ZimmerFrei lavora su mondi semi-reali, così come su mondi privati, spesso abitati da persone gemelle in numero pari, che deragliano mentre gli altri personaggi socchiudono gli occhi. Sono esseri che riproducono se stessi nella speranza distratta di permanere, si trasmettono messaggi o valigette contenenti gli oggetti feticcio di un’esistenza, si aspettano all’alba e si osservano rischiando di cogliere un nesso importante. Non c’è nessuna particolare parentela, ma piuttosto una forma di risonanza reciproca per questi presenti alternativi che mercanteggiano tra loro. I corpi riescono ad abitare alcuni precisi istanti di tempo, insistendo su una specifica luce, una certa profondità e un dato volume. Tutto questo tra un riposino e un mancamento, ad occhi chiusi.

“I used to recount images of entire films from the beginning to the end, often repeating the same scene twice to make sure she understood and she never interrupted, not once”. ZimmerFrei works on half-real worlds, as on private worlds inhabited by an even number of twins who go off the rails while the other characters half-close their eyes. These are bodies who reproduce themselves since they – absent-minded - hope to persist; they transfer messages or suitcases filled with fetish domestic objects; they wait each other at dawn; they observe each other and they take the risk to understand the link. There is not any explicit family tie but these parallel present get in resonance and they trade. These bodies live very precise frames of time, they can insist on a specific light, a certain depth and definite volume. Everything happens between a nap and a swoon, blindfold.
